Template licence

Every template you download from 7uptheme.com is free to use. Build whatever you like with it, for yourself or for a paying client. The one thing we ask is that you do not sell the files on as files.

Version 1.0Applies to every free template

Free to use, on every template. There is no fee, no licence key and nothing to renew. Once a template is downloaded it is yours to use for as long as you like, on as many sites as you like.

You may

  • Use a template for personal, commercial or client projects
  • Use it on as many websites as you like, with no limit and no per-site fee
  • Modify anything: the HTML, the CSS, the JavaScript, the images
  • Charge a client for the work you do with it
  • Remove our name and any credit link
  • Use it as a starting point for something you go on to sell as a finished website

You may not

  • Sell, sublicense or redistribute the template files themselves, modified or not
  • Publish it on another template site, marketplace or download directory
  • Bundle it into a theme pack, plugin or product whose value is the template files
  • Claim you authored the original template
  • Use it for anything unlawful, or for a site whose purpose is to deceive people

The distinction that matters

The line is between the work you do and the files we made. Charging a client $3,000 to build their site on top of Aurora is exactly what these templates are for. Uploading Aurora to a marketplace and selling it for $19 is not.

If you are unsure which side of the line something falls on, the test is simple: is the buyer paying for your labour, or for our files?

Warranty

The templates are provided as they are, with no warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee they are free of defects, fit for any particular purpose, or compatible with any particular hosting environment. You are responsible for testing anything you put in front of the public.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of a template, including lost revenue, lost data or business interruption. If a template breaks something, the remedy is that you stop using it.

Support

The how-to-use page and the FAQ are the documentation for every free template. Installation, editing, forms and publishing are all covered there. If you would rather we did the work, tell us what you need.

Third-party assets

Demo images inside a template are placeholders and are not covered by this licence. Replace them before publishing. Any fonts or icons used are subject to their own licences, which are named in the template’s README.

Changes

We may revise this licence for future downloads. Whichever version was current when you downloaded a template is the one that applies to that copy. A change here does not reach back and alter what you already have.
